Movie ‘Overruled’ Exposes Government Invasion of American Families
The online docudrama Overruled: Government Invasion of Your Parental Rights has just been released.  As one viewer commented, “This is very possibly the most important 35 minutes you will spend in front of your computer this year, and maybe in your life!” “American parents just assume that their traditional right to make sound decisions for their children is fully protected in our legal system,” said Michael Farris, President of ParentalRights.org. He added, “Overruled reveals how precarious our rights are in today’s legal climate—and the movie makes it clear that we can and must fix the problem before it is too...

New Film Says Youth Ministry Borrows from Evolution
Today, the Institute for Creation Research ran the following article, by Christine Dao, “New Film Says Youth Ministry Borrows from Evolution, Paganism”: Whether or not your pastor talks about how belief in Darwinian evolution undermines the authority of God’s Word, chances are that evolutionary thinking is already firmly established in your church. That’s the idea presented in the new film Divided: Is Age-Segregated Ministry Multiplying or Dividing the Church?1 In the documentary, filmmaker Philip LeClerc set out to discover why young people were leaving the church and turning away from God. A 2007 survey by LifeWay Research found that “70...
I’m so impressed with the Steege family’s ‘Runner from Ravenshead’ film!
The kids and I got to meet a neat second-generation homeschooling family this weekend, the Steeges, who have produced a full-length, very professional film called The Runner from Ravenshead.  What a delight!  This fun, family-friendly movie reminded us of Indiana Jones and The Little Rascals, and has a wonderful message in allegory form reminiscent of Pilgrim’s Progress.  See the movie’s trailer here:  http://www.ravensheadmovie.com/trailer.html There’s a great interview with the Joel and Lisa Steege and their children about the movie at Pajama School Blog. My kids loved meeting the stars of Ravenshead — the young and bright homeschooled Steege children — and seeing...
Voddie Baucham’s Studio Outtakes for New Movie
I love Dr. Voddie Baucham, Jr.! Baucham narrates the new film George Washington Carver: An Uncommon Way, just released by Franklin Springs Media. I found this great studio-outtakes clip at the movie’s info page. This homeschooling dad has the most amazing voice, and takes such a strong, positive stance on so many things our family values.  We first heard him speak at last summer’s homeschool convention in Phoenix. Be inspired! (A side note; I just read on Franklin Springs Media’s blog this morning of the sudden death of collaborator Tom Howard, who wrote the music for this George Washington Carver movie...
