<description>Here is an update on this event:

Jane Austen was a writer of what is called, &quot;the novel of manners&quot; depicting the social customs of her era (the Regency Era 1780-1830). A &quot;ball&quot; is another name for a party with dancing. You might have read (or seen the movies) Pride and Prejudice, Persuasion, Emma, or Sense and Sensibility. It was a time of grace and elegance.

Bring your family and friends to learn the dances of the Regency era. No experience needed! If you can walk, you can do this!

Learn George Washington&#039;s favorite dance! Learn Mr. Beveridge&#039;s Maggot from the movie Pride and Prejudice!

Costumes are admired, but not required. (Shamelessly borrowed phrase from the Arizona Regency Society) But do wear formal wear, so as to enhance our enjoyment of recreating a pastime from another era. Ladies, this means no pants. In place of Regency era gowns, a prom-style dress would be most suitable. For costume ideas, type in Regency era fashions into a search engine and click on &quot;images.&quot; OR Rent a costume from Moezart by calling 480-272-0705.

KEYS members $10 per person, $30 maximum per family
Non-members $15 per person, $45 maximum per family

Pay cash or check at the KEYS office (Room 600) on Monday or Thursday from 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. on the campus of Pure Heart Christian Fellowship, 14240 N. 43rd Ave., Glendale, AZ 85306 OR send a check made out to KEYS and mail to: Renee Metcalf, 2607 W. Bloomfield Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85029.
