RALEIGH (WTVD) — Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing teen.
Sixteen-year-old James Doeffinger Jr. was last seen Monday morning when he left his home in the 3300 block of Marshlane Way to take a walk.
Police spent much of Monday evening searching for the home-schooled teen.
His parents are very concerned because James’ cell phone was found in a Wal-Mart about three miles from his home.
“He went on an exercise/run around 9:30. He would have been gone a half-hour at the most,” said James’ mother, Michelle Doeffinger, “Maybe an hour and a half later, I realized it had been quiet a while so I started to get worried. We’ve been going around, friends have been helping us look. He has not called.”
Doeffinger is described as a white male who is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 250-300 pounds. When last seen, he was wearing a light-colored sweatshirt, blue jeans and a black hat.
Anyone who knows Doeffinger’s current whereabouts is asked to call 911.
A Facebook page has been set up to help locate Doeffinger.
