Wild at Heart Burrowing Owl Events
On Friday, Feb 17, at the Gila Bend site, we’ll be building even more artificial burrows for the owls, as part of our build-out of approximately 400 burrows at this site. We hope this event will conclude the building of the artificial burrows at this site.On Saturday, Feb 25, we’ll be building the first 2-3 release tents at the Gila Bend site. Between approximately 3 and 4 p.m. burrowing owls will be placed in the tents and volunteers get to see the owls up close.Saturday, Mar 10 will be a repeat of the Feb 25 event.

Saturday, Mar 24 will be a repeat of the Feb 25 event, except at the Hyder Farm in Sentinel. This site was first used in 2010.

Saturday, Mar 31 we’ll be back at Zanjero Park in Gilbert, building one release tent and potentially releasing owls into the tent, if the security fence is completed in a timely fashion.

The events will begin at 8 a.m. and generally continue until 3 p.m., if not later. You may come whenever you want and stay as long as you want. If you are coming out, please let us know how many adults and children are in your group as it helps us plan better for the event. We appreciate your continued interest in helping relocate burrowing owls.
