My name is Sue Sorel. I am now an official Physical Education teacher and just graduated from ASU this Spring.
I am interested in offering home-school children a Physical Education experience that equals or exceeds what is offered in public schools. This is possible because of smaller classes and more involved parents. I would like to gage the level of interest.
I will be starting physical education classes in the fall starting in October. My class will include an introductory activity, usually an activity to get them moving, a fitness activity which involves 4 out of the 5 components of Health Related Fitness, which are cardio-vascular, muscular endurance, muscular strength, and flexibility. The fitness activity is followed up with a lesson focus which will teach the students skills and activities that will help them learn to be active for a life time. Lastly, a game will follow to reinforce the skills learned will follow the lesson focus. I would also be interested if there is interest from the parents to bring in a health concept to the class also.
I will customize the development learning that will encourage socialization within their peer group.
